ENDORSED BY

GOV. ANDY BESHEAR

“Kate Farrow is running for General Assembly to deliver for Kentucky’s working families and ensure that they’re treated with the dignity they deserve,” said Governor Andy Beshear. “Motivated by a desire to make life better for all Kentuckians, Kate and her common-sense approach to policymaking are needed in Frankfort.”

MEET KATE

I'm Kate Farrow, a dedicated mother of two, resilient Gen Xer with grit, and a lifelong Kentuckian. Rooted in the values of hard work, financial responsibility, kindness, and community service, I am committed to serving my community and making a positive impact.

I grew up in a Catholic Republican family, but I learned to think for myself and challenge the status quo. My education journey led me through both Catholic and public schools in Louisville, and I graduated 1st in my class from Sullivan University.

My career began at the Louisville Water Company as a union laborer, and through determination and dedication, I advanced to Operations Manager. This journey has equipped me with the skills to bridge gaps between unions, non-unions, executive leadership, and frontline workers, driving improvements and cost savings along the way.

I have a proven track record of delivering results. At the request of Mayor Greg Fischer, I led a comprehensive departmental review, identifying opportunities for improvement within government departments. My legislative efforts have contributed to enhancing literacy in Kentucky, including the Read to Succeed Act (2022) and SB156 (2023).

Community service is my passion. I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, have coached recreational league soccer, and support animal services as well as the LiveSTRONG program at the YMCA.

With extensive experience as a business leader, project manager, and investor, I bring a results-oriented, no-nonsense approach to everything I do. I am a skilled collaborator, facilitator, and unifier, with a strong advocacy for women and children.

Together, we can build a brighter future for Kentucky, grounded in hard work, community, and unwavering dedication.

KATE'S WORK IN THE COMMUNITY

LITERACY

Kate is a passionate advocate for literacy in Kentucky. She led a grassroots movement of parents and students to push for the Read to Succeed Act, a landmark legislation that aims to improve reading outcomes for all children. Kate and her team from Kentucky Reading Reform collaborated with lawmakers from both parties to secure the unanimous passage of SB156, which strengthened the Read to Succeed Act in 2023. Kate personally met with a number of State Senators and Representatives in Frankfort to persuade them of the importance of literacy for Kentucky’s future.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Kate has a passion for helping people achieve their dreams of owning a home. She has been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity since she was in her 20s, building affordable housing for low-income families in Louisville and beyond. She has also participated in the annual homeless count, witnessing firsthand the challenges and needs of the homeless population in our city. Kate believes that home ownership and access to affordable housing have many positive outcomes for our community, such as reducing poverty, improving health, increasing education, and fostering social cohesion. As your representative, Kate will work hard to ensure that everyone has a safe and decent place to call home.
